Chicago Bears Free Agent OT Jason Peters did an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio and said that he’s staying in shape and wants to play in the 2022 NFL Season. Peters is almost 40 years old, but played very well at left tackle for the Bears last season. Could the Bears re-sign Peters to compete for a starting job or at least be a reliable backup this year? Peters had high praise for Bears QB Justin Fields saying he can be a “special” player once the Bears’ offensive line is in place. Bears Now host Harrison Graham brings you today’s Chicago Bears rumors & news.

Today’s Bears rumors continue with a new Robert Quinn trade idea from Bleacher Report. B/R suggested the Chicago Bears trade Quinn to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 2023 2nd round pick. With Bears Training Camp looming next week, it’s unknown whether or not Quinn will report to camp. Also, ESPN NFL Analyst Matt Bowen believes that Cole Kmet could have a huge year in Luke Getsy’s offense. Kmet had over 60 catches and 600 yards last season, but failed to to reach the end zone. Can Justin Fields and Cole Kmet be a good combination this year?

Jason Peters on wanting to play in the NFL this season:
“Looking for an upcoming offensive line, good team — or a playoff team. Either/or is good for me, because I can pass my torch on to some guys who are trying to get better, the younger guys, the new generation. Or if I get on a team with some vets, they already know how I rock, and we can just go into the playoffs and make a run and try to win another ring.”

Jason Peters on Bears’ QB Justin Fields:
“Once he gets that offensive line set, that guy is going to be special because he can throw and run. He can make all of the plays he needs to make.”
