This "thorn," perhaps a bad habit or vice — is it a sin? Are we just calling it a "thorn" to make it sound nicer? Jesse suggests that it becomes a sin when you resent it. Simply being aware of it and not getting into it — that brings the appropriate concern about it. In stillness and awareness, God comes in and helps you overcome it, rather than being overcome by it. Do not enjoy it as though it's the right thing to do.
