The Real Truth Behind Preserved and Processed Food

Food processing is the transformation of raw commodities and ingredients into finished food products for human consumption. That definition essentially states that everything we consume is processed. You are eating processed foods unless you pick it right out of the field and put it in your mouth.
It's impossible to avoid, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Food that has been altered in any way from its natural state is considered processed. This includes cleaning, canning, freezing, and adding ingredients. Processing also includes baking, cooking, and preparing it.
When it comes to food and nutrition, we often make emotional decisions. It's emotional in the sense that when it comes to food choices, people have strong feelings one way or the other. With reason: food is literally the fuel that keeps us alive.
