According to the BBC, on February 1, local time, an attempted coup took place near the government building in the capital of Guinea-Bissau, West Africa, killing several members of the security forces and the president was attacked while attending a meeting. That night, the president appeared and said the coup was well organized and well prepared.
The coup took place near the government building in the capital Bissau, where President Umaro Cissoko Embalo was attending a cabinet meeting.
