Covenants Part1

A covenant is a legally enforceable agreement between 2 or more persons to do or to refrain from doing a certain act. Just as we have different kinds of contracts today, the same was true of covenants in the ancient Near East. Covenant is a legal concept often used in the Bible as a metaphor to describe the relationship between God and humankind. The idea of a covenant between God and humankind lies at the heart of the Bible.
