What do you NEED for deer hunting?

White tail hunting is one of the most common forms of hunting in the United States. What gear do you need for your first hunt? If you get sucked into what the media (social and otherwise) shows you it may seem like you need a crazy pile of gear costing a small fortune. The truth is rather more modest, and even my list would be laughed at by hunters from 100 years ago. Interestingly, we do seem to be reversing this trend and the industry seems to be aware that they need to refocus on the average hunter rather than the celebrity hunting tier that has been focused on over the last couple decades.
