Favorite General Purpose AR parts. - WWSD

Rolling this out early, since no one watched the fly fishing intro.

All of these are things I've reviewed previously, sometimes more than once. But, we're at least six months further along and I figured that with the season it was worth refreshing my thoughts.

Primary Arms 2x GLX ACSS - Still one of the best options available for an AR that doesn't need a long range precision scope. That's the vast majority of them.

LaRue MBT-2S - My opinion hasn't changed, as a general duty trigger it can't be beat. Anything better is also significantly more expensive, to the point it's in a different bracket entirely. This is the trigger you put in when you don't NEED to spend three times as much.

Geissele Airborne Charging Handle - My favorite, it ticks all the boxes. I wish I could find them at the price I got mine for.

Aero Precision M4E1 Receivers - Again, they tick all the boxes. The price is right, the quality is great. Why build with anything else unless you're spending two or three times more?

Faxon Pencil Barrels - They won't win Precision Barrel of the Year, but they might win Most Carried. The weight savings comes with a penalty to precision as they heat up, but it is consistent and not nearly as horrible as in years past. For a rifle that will be carried more than shot, and where absolute precision over rapid strings of fire isn't a huge concern, they're hard to beat. In my opinion, these are the AR starting point, you deviate from here if you NEED something else.

WWSD Carbine in general - If you haven't tried something like this you are missing out. The balance, light weight and ease of use is something you just have to experience. I'm tempted to get one of the modern lowers, SBR it, and do one in 14" so it's not quite as long when I suppress it.
