Final verdict on 'The Butcher of Bosnia': Life in prison

According to the Associated Press, on June 8, local time, a UN appeals judge upheld the conviction of former Bosnian Serb army commander Mladic for genocide and other crimes committed during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War. And confirmed his life sentence. That means the 79-year-old former general will spend the rest of his life in prison. Mladic is known as the "Butcher of Bosnia". He was convicted in 2017 and sentenced to life in prison, among other suspected war crimes for ordering the army to carry out the Srebrenica massacre in 1995.
