Anticipation builds as Sri Lanka waits for new president

After months of simmering anger, crowds of Sri Lankans stormed the secretariat and official residences of the president and prime minister last week, in a culmination of their anger at the country’s economic collapse and forcing Gotabaya Rajapaksa to flee the country. Now, citizens await a new government.
