LAP - A Paper & Pencil deductive strategy game by Lech Pijanowski (a superior Battleships type game)

LAP is a deductive strategy game where each player secretly divides an 8x8 grid into 4 sectors. Each player then tries to guess their opponents arrangement. Information is passed to and fro by turns but this is limited to 2x2 blocks of squares. As the game proceeds deductions can be made until one player declares that they know their opponent's arrangement. The game stops and the game is a draw or a winner is determined.
The video explains the rules and is illustrated by clear diagrams and examples when needed. A sample of the type of deductive thinking required for the game is given towards the end of the video.

LAP was first published in Sid Sackson's classic book 'A Gamut of Games' published in 1969. The game was invented by Lech Andrej Pijanowski a Polish games enthusiast. He named the game by using his own initials.
Lech Pijanowski published a series of books on games which were published in Polish and have not been translated into English.
