PART 1: History of Civil Liberties in Canada Series with Conrad Black

TDF held an evening of provocative insight on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, for the special premiere event of The History of Civil Liberties in Canada, the first in a six-part limited series hosted by TDF’s Historian in Residence, Conrad Black.

An accomplished historian, Conrad Black discussed his perspective on civil liberties in Canada and the history of constitutional rights and freedoms in Canada.

This very special premiere event was hosted in downtown Toronto in the Concert Hall at The Carlu – a site designated as a National Historic Site and recognized for its superlative Art Moderne architecture.

About Conrad Black:
In case you are unfamiliar with Conrad Black, he is a financier and an esteemed columnist, writer, radio and television commentator, who is well known for creating a media legacy and one of the world’s largest newspaper companies, Hollinger International. He was also founder of Canada’s National Post and has written books on Canadian and American history, as well as acclaimed biographies of figures such as former premier of Quebec, Maurice Duplessis, and US presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Richard Nixon and Donald Trump.
