NY Body Armor Ban - Body Armor Expert Shares What You Need To Know

NY State Governor Kathy Hochul recently signed off on bills that ban the purchase and possession of semi-automatic rifles for those under age 21 and outlaw the sale or purchase of a "body vest" by civilians who do not work in a profession that requires body armor protection.

But what about those who already own body armor? Will they be grandfathered in? And what about body armor panels for inside kids backpacks? Those are technically not "body vests." What about those? Are parents no longer allowed to place a piece of body armor in their child's backpack to help keep them safer? Are store owners in neighborhoods with skyrocketing crime and violence no longer able to wear a protective vest while working behind the counter?
