2 Elevator takes visitors down 45 metres or 150 feet. From that point, there is an observation platform that takes visitors right next to the base of #horseshoefalls . There is also a tunnel that takes visitors 150 feet behind the waterfall. Along this #tunnel, there are two portals that provide an amazing view of the rushing mass of water behind the waterfall.

The current tunnels were cut in 1944 and the observation platform was added in 1951. Formerly, the attraction was named the #ScenicTunnels - the name change came in 1994. [Tom Samworth]

3. Horseshoe Falls is the largest of the three #waterfalls that collectively form Niagara Falls on the #niagarariver along the Canada–United States border.

Approximately 90% of the Niagara River, after diversions for #hydropower generation, flows over Horseshoe Falls.

The remaining 10% flows over American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. It is located between Terrapin Point on #GoatIsland in the US state of New York, and Table Rock in the Canadian province of #Ontario .[wikipedia.org]
