The 10 BEST “Mysterious” Sativa Cannabis Strains!
Our Top 10 Sativa Cannabis Plants.
If you are looking for a cerebral and euphoric high, then you want to concentrate on sativa strains of cannabis plants. These are probably the most cross-bred strains of cannabis, owing to the fact that the consequences of smoking it aren’t a lounge-lizard body stone and instead, a more a cerebral uplifting.
Basically, if you still want to be able to function like a relatively normal human being after having a good smoke, then you are best to explore our list of what we consider to be best ten sativa cannabis strains.
Dr Grinspoon kicks things off at number 10, and we wonder if he is a relative of Dr Seuss or Dr Dolittle. The names of some strains continue to boggle our mind!
This is a pure, 100% sativa which takes its name from a professor at Harvard University Because, apparently, a few tokes of this stuff and you’ll get a heightened cerebral sensation and it will make you feel hyper intelligent.
Note that we say ‘feel’, it doesn’t make you any more intelligent or stupid than you already are!
This is perhaps a plant for the purist, as it is not easy to grow and don’t expect any flowering before 13 to 14 weeks.
Here at number 9 we have Neville’s Haze, a nearly 100% pure sativa strain and a cross between Northern Lights and Haze, yielding roughly 22% THC levels.
Expect ultra-fruity flavours and aromas, followed by a social, happy high.
They say that patience is a virtue, and you’ll need plenty of it here as flowering usually takes up to 16 weeks!
At number 8, Chocolope.
Now there’s a name for you – one which conjures up images of an antelope made of chocolate – we guess it’s something different from a chocolate bunny.
Actually, this cannabis gets its name from being a cross of Chocolate Thai, a 1980’s favourite, and Cannalope Haze.
What’s wrong with the alternative name we have to ask. Thai Haze anyone?
This cultivar boasts an irresistibly smoky, chocolatey, coffee-tinged aroma that gives way to a euphoric and happy high that will boost your mind while satisfying your sweet tooth.
And the best news of all, while sativa strains are notoriously slow in flowering, expect Chocolope to bloom after just eight weeks.
Coming in at number 7, Utopia Haze sounds a bit more self-explanatory, and it doesn’t disappoint.
One good toke you are likely to experience an unforgettable, hard-hitting and long-lasting cerebral high that will leave you feeling as though you are in paradise.
Expect a fruity and minty flavour coming from an abundance of terpenes. Unsurprising when you consider that when ready to harvest after ten weeks, the buds are enveloped in wonderfully sticky resin.
Kali Mist join us at number 6, best described as a unique bastard, as nobody knows either of this strain’s ‘parents’.
What they do know is that this is a very robust sativa, renowned for its stress relieving qualities.
It is also a great smoke for the daytime as the high will still leave you with a clear head and the ability to still focus, feeling energized and productive.
Though flowering can take up to 13 weeks, the wait will be well worth your while with greater-than-expected yields.
Durban, unsurprisingly, hails from South Africa and joins our list at number 5, easily recognized through its woody and liquorice-scented head stash high.
The plant’s don’t grow overly tall and you can expect them to flower after roughly eight weeks.
This current batch of sativas reads more like a geography lesson than a guide to the best cannabis plants around.
Next on the ‘map’ we have Jamaica, situated at number 4, which, surprise surprise, comes from the Caribbean island of the same name.
While we’re in this area of the globe, we don’t have far to travel for the next cannabis destination, Panama, home to the canal, the hat, and some damned fine cannabis that goes by the name of Panama Haze, now made famous by featuring at number 3 on our list.
This is the ‘offspring’ of Purple Haze, Green Haze, and F10 Panama and a potent hash, reaching THC levels as high as 23%.
We’re now in Mexico, or Tijuana to be precise. Number 2.
Tijuana is popular with creative types as it doesn’t send you to sleep, despite the very potent and invigorating high. Followed by a deliciously spicy taste.
Where growing is concerned, outdoors they will grow to quite some height, and you can expect flowering after ten to 12 weeks.
Finally- topping our list at number 1, it is of course Serious Six, presumably the prequel to the Magnificent Seven!
This is a landrace of undefined Canadian genetics crossed with an African Landrace.
Expect a sweet, citrus and floral aroma, with a hint of spice when you break down the nugs.
As for the high, well that’s a bit special. You’ll get a warming, clear-headed cerebral buzz that both melts stress while sparking creativity.
This is really a plant for experienced growers, preferring an outdoor environment and requiring skilled cropping.
