An Hour-Long Drive Through Sedona, Arizona

The first thing we see in this hour-long drive through Sedona, Arizona is Bell Rock, one of Sedona's most famous red rock formations. Within kissing distance of the road we are on -- the breathtaking Red Rock Scenic Byway (Arizona State Route 179) -- Bell Rock is the first of Sedona's well-known rock formations to welcome us. Driving along this gorgeous road, we pass Mermaid Rock and The Chapel of the Holy Cross (on our right) and Cathedral Rock (on our left). A few picturesque miles later, we come to the junction of SR179 and 89A. Turning right on 89A, we drive through Uptown Sedona, which is where most of Sedona's tourist shops are located. Then we circle back and take 89A into West Sedona. At the edge of town, we turn left on Upper Red Rock Loop Road. This stunning road allows us to see a valley full of red rock formations, including Sedona's most famous red rock formation, Cathedral Rock. At the bottom of the road, we drive by Crescent Moon Ranch and then head back to West Sedona. With West Sedona spread out below us on our right, we drive up Airport Road until we come to Sedona's airport. Then we head back down, catching 89A when it intersects with SR179. Back on the Red Rock Scenic Byway again, the tour ends with some of the most beautiful scenes of the trip: Mermaid Rock, Courthouse Butte, and Bell Rock all bathed in golden light.

One special note: This video was filmed on Sunday, April 19, 2020, in the middle of the "Save Lives, Stay At Home" Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That's why there aren't more cars and people. If this video had been filmed on a normal Sunday, there would be bumper-to-bumper traffic and mobs people exploring Sedona's many treasures.
