As gas prices continue to rise, it’s becoming increasingly apparent that officials have no intent to change the course. Instead, the Biden administration is shipping away America’s oil reserves and openly stating that the crisis won’t end until Russia stops its war in Ukraine. The approach is being mirrored elsewhere, including at the World Economic Forum, which is advocating for a green end goal rather than a solution for oil.

Meanwhile, Panama has been shut down by large-scale protests. Organizers have issued a long list of demands, including lower oil prices. Food shortages are spreading, migrant caravans heading to the United States are being stranded, and the conflict could shut down the Panama Canal, which would further ignite the global shipping crisis. To learn more about this, we speak with an on-the-ground source in Panama, Matthew Tomlet.

In this live Q&A with Crossroads host Joshua Philipp, we’ll discuss these stories and others, and answer questions from the audience.
