Eaton G80 Locking Differential vs Gear Type LSD vs Clutch Type LSD (Yukon Gear Duragrip)

Choosing the right Traction Aid Device can be difficult. There is gear style Limited Slip (i.e. Helical), there is clutch style Limited Slip (i.e. posi traction) and there are locking differentials (i.e. Eaton G80, Electronic locking differential etc).

So which when do you pick? You have to ask yourself, what type of situations are you going to be putting the vehicle and yourself into, as they all have pros and cons.

In this video we investigate the "lock up" abilities of each style in a scenario where one wheel has lots of traction while the other has virtually zero.
