On General John Stark, with Mr. Richard C. Wright, Re-enactor at Camp Constitution 2022
Mr. Richard C. Wright is a 50-year student of American history and genealogy, and has held numerous offices in the Sons of the American Revolution and other hereditary societies, including Genealogist General for the Order of Founders & Patriots. With primary focus on the period between 1740 and 1812, he has extensively researched General John Stark, French and Indian war veteran and Revolutionary War hero. He has portrayed the General at the 225th anniversary of the Battle of Bennington, "Corking the Bottle" at Schuylerville preventing Burgoyne's retreat from the first battle of Saratoga and other military re-enactments, and presents to school groups and historical societies. Richard currently resides in Troy, NH with a blacksmith shop turning an avocation into a vocation, focusing on traditional hardware and items from the colonial period. "What do you know about General John Stark?" We all know the motto "Live Free or Die" but how much do we know about the man behind the motto?
