why don't we use straight razors any more (aka the razorblade buisness model)

Have you ever wondered why we move away from things that are great to embrace something that is not as good ... marketing that is why and this is the example that I would give that change the marketplace forever. You never even think about it these days "need razor blades babe can you put them on your shopping list"
Modern razor blades are horrible for your skin and cause much more irritation but we use them because that is what we know.
