According to un-official results, former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has won 15 out of 20 provincial assembly seats in hotly contested by-elections in Punjab.

The ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has won 4 seats, while an independent candidate has been also successful.

With this resounding victory, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf can again form government in Punjab; the largest province of Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as a result of this humiliating defeat, may resign and dissolve assemblies.

Election results have amply shown that Imran Khan's narrative has garnered overwhelming public support in the wake of recent regime change operation in Pakistan.
