How to use MOSS KILLER on your Lawn! What about the ROOF? | Cool Season Lawn - Part 1 | 2020/14

Moss Killer is for more than just your lawn. It’s spring in the Pacific Northwest. And for me that means preparing my yard and lawn for coming season. This video is the first part of a series, that will show the common man how to maintain his lawn with items from the big box stores, and not have to go through the challenges of purchasing professional grade materials, herbicides, and seeds to have an amazing lawn that makes your neighbors jealous.

I started off by mowing, trimming and edging may lawn to its regular height, for me that’s about 3”. This helps be see the large patches of moss and weeds that will need attention. In this video I am going to tackle the moss, which unfortunately grows unabated for most of the fall and winter, once the rain starts.

I am comparing two applications, a dry granular from a shaker bag that you water in, and a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and spray on. I set up two test areas, on in the front yard and one in the back yard. And records the results. For times savings I sprayed the remainder of the yard with the liquid concentrate. This took me about 30 minutes and used about six gallons of water.

Added bonus! I had about two gallons left over from treating the yard, so I was able to use it on my roof shingles and gutters to treat those areas. This brand has a special blend for roof and structures that doesn’t stain, but in my case, I can use the same concentrate on the roof because staining is not an issue.
