About Joshua Dowden

My name is Joshua Dowden, I’ve been a Nevadan for over 20 years. I am a single dad, a son, a brother, a businessman, and a freedom-loving Republican.

Growing up in a working-class family with five siblings, I was never handed anything and have been gainfully employed since I was 16 years old. I was hired by the largest tire and wheel retailer in the world where I worked for 14 years, starting at the store level before transitioning into marketing and managing statewide operations for all of Nevada.

In 2007 I decided to pursue a career in the financial services industry, where I have maintained a successful business to this day.

Working my way up the corporate ladder and running my own business while raising two children by myself was no easy task. My parents instilled in me that through hard work and perseverance, I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. Only in America, and especially Nevada would someone like me be given such great opportunities to pursue and to realize the American Dream.

Why I Am Running

I am running for Senate because I understand that as a father and Nevadan our kids deserve a better education. We’re ranked 49th out of 50 in education, this needs to change. Career politicians have failed to solve this.

Our healthcare climate needs to be improved to attract more doctors and nurses. Patients are waiting too long to receive care, drug prices are skyrocketing out of control, and the opioid epidemic is devastating Nevada.

We need to ensure Nevada is a business-friendly state, where companies all over the world want to operate and hire Nevadans for good-paying jobs. I am running because we need to get Nevada back to its conservative roots of smaller limited government, lower taxes, and ensure every Nevadan has the opportunity to succeed.
