Some scholars have claimed that ecstatic experiences, such as speaking in tongues and prophecy, were said by the earliest Christians to be appearances of the risen Jesus. This was the initial claim of the early believers. But the story evolved into bodily resurrection as we read in the Gospels. Dr. Licona addresses this claim.
