Sermon Title: “Have we any Hope?”
Sermon Text: 1 Corinthians 15:9-19
1.) Jesus Christ died (1 Cor 15:3)
2.) Jesus Christ was buried (1 Cor 15:4a)
3.) Jesus Christ was raised (1 Cor 15:4b)
4.) Jesus Christ appeared (1 Cor 15:5-8)
5.) Jesus Christ redeems (1 Cor 15:9-11)
1.) The Death of the Savior:
If the Resurrection is not real, Jesus is still in the grave.
(1 Cor 15:12-13)
2.) The Lie of the Gospel:
If the Resurrection is not real, Gospel preaching is a lie.
(1 Cor 15:14-15)
3.) The Condemnation of Christians:
If the Resurrection is not real, your sins continue to condemn you. (1 Cor 15:16-17)
4.) The Destruction of all who have Died:
If the Resurrection is not real, all dead believers are forever destroyed. (1 Cor 15:18)
5.) The Hopelessness of Life:
If the Resurrection is not real, Christians are shamefully hopeless.
(1 Cor 15:19)
1 Cor 15:20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
However, if the Resurrection is real, Jesus is not still in the grave, but rather Jesus is on the throne.
However, if the Resurrection is real, Gospel preaching is not a lie, but Gospel preaching is truth.
However, if the Resurrection is real, your sins don’t continue to condemn you, but your sins are forgiven.
However, if the Resurrection is real, all the dead believers are not forever destroyed but alive in Christ.
However, if the Resurrection is real, then Christians are not shamefully hopeless, but confidently secure.
