What is Investing?
What are Returns?
What is the Risk in Investing?
When should I Invest?

4 main types of investments:
#1 Investing in Stocks and Shares - Buying a stake in a company
#2 Cash Investment - Pus Savings into a bank
#3 Property Investment - Buying a physical building
#4 Fixed Interest Securities ( Bonds) - Loaning money to a company or government

Other types of investments:
#1 Investing in Foreign Currency
#2 Collectibles - Art, Antiques
#3 Investing in Commodities - Oil, Coffee, Corn, Rubber, Gold etc.
#4 Contracts of Difference - Betting on shares whether they will gain or lose value.

Before investing in anything you should always do your full due diligence and make sure you calculate your return on investment accurately, as you don't want to miscalculate and make a loss.

There is no such thing as Risk-Free investing so always consider the risk involved with every investment. A small amount of risk can make big differences - positively or negatively when it comes to investing.

Diversification is a key factor to consider and make sure all your eggs are not in the same basket.

When to invest?
Lots of people say the best time to invest is when you have saved up 6 months of your salary.

I find that this is quite difficult in this day and age. So I follow the following rule:

Take your monthly pay, minus your living costs. Then split the excess 3 ways:
#1 Savings
#2 Investing
#3 Enjoyment

I'm personally planning to save into a Stocks and Shares ISA and put the money towards an Index Fund, I'll make another video soon about index funds.

I also use an app called Freetrade, I'll do a separate video on using the Freetrade app in the near future.
