A-10 Thunderbolt IIs Refuel Over Iraq

November 29, 2017 - Two A-10 Thunderbolt II’s assigned to Incirlik AB, Turkey, are refueled by a KC-10 Extender over Iraq to support Operation Inherent Resolve. The A-10 Thunderbolt II’s combat radius and short takeoff and landing capability permit operations in and out of locations near front lines. The A-10 has excellent maneuverability at low air speeds and altitude, and is a highly accurate and survivable weapons-delivery platform.
