If you live out in the country or in rural areas then you probably use well water as your primary water source. With well water there can be problems when it comes to your water heater. Here is a quick way to stop smelly well water (that sulfur or rotten egg smell) from coming out of your water heater.

Supplies:
Hydrogen Peroxide - https://amzn.to/3oeTgOX
1x brass water valve - https://amzn.to/3kec9PP
3x pipe nipples - https://amzn.to/35jyZzk
1x plastic adapter - https://amzn.to/3mdtMj9
1x plastic tubing - https://amzn.to/31p4mr5

This video describes a convenient way to use an inlet valve and easily put hydrogen peroxide into the tank every couple months. This is a short term fix to remove the smell instantly. You only need to use about a cup of Hydrogen Peroxide total, which you can get at the grocery store for under a dollar.

The reason why I pointed the valve inlet up high was to also enable me to use a funnel to load in the peroxide. I later found that I preferred to use the suction tube instead (no dust or bugs trapped in the funnel, no leaks, no spills, etc).

Equipment:
Rheem Prestige heat pump water heater, 80 gallon, PROPH80 T2 RH350 DCB, Econet.
