According to the authorities, some of the factors that caused the death of these people were dehydration or decomposition due to chronic diseases aggravated in these hot weather seasons.

The Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), dependent on the Ministry of Health, has recorded 360 deaths attributable to the high temperatures recorded in the first six days of the heat wave that affects Spain.

La ola de calor que desde el día 10 se extiende por todo el país, salvo Canarias, debida a una masa de aire del Sáhara, y que este sábado deja máximas de hasta 44 ºC, ha elevado a 360 las muertes atribuibles a esta causa, según la última estadística del Instituto de Salud Carlos III.

El Sistema de Monitorización de la Mortalidad Diaria (MoMo) de este organismo, dependiente del Ministerio de Sanidad, estima en 360 los fallecimientos que se pueden atribuir a las altas temperaturas.
