Se uma nota executada em tempo fraco ou parte fraca de tempo for prolongada ao tempo forte ou parte forte do tempo seguinte, teremos o que se chama de SÍNCOPE.
A SÍNCOPE produz efeito de deslocamento da acentuação natural.
A SÍNCOPE pode ser REGULAR ou IRREGULAR. SÍNCOPE REGULAR – Quando as notas que a formam têm a mesma duração. SÍNCOPE IRREGULAR – Quando as notas que a compõem não têm a mesma duração.

If a note played in weak time or a weak part of time is prolonged to the strong time or strong part of the next time, we will have what is called SYNCOPE.
