Power Move Pro Wrestling (PS1) Gameplay Sample

Coming from the team that would later make WWF Smackdown, Power Move Pro Wrestling is a modification of Shin Nippon Pro Wrestling: Toukon Retsuden (New Japan Pro Wrestling), and is a solid wrestling game all around. The characters are generic as they changed out real Japanese wrestlers with generic ones.

The play mechanics are solid, and feel good once you get used to them, but as this is an old game, they feel very limited in nature. Not a bad system, but between Yuke's later efforts, and the Aki Wrestling games on the 1, and N64, have since been surpassed in depth. Nonetheless, for being the first 3D wrestling game ever, and the first 3D wrestling game released in North America, Power Move Pro Wrestling started with a solid foundation. Simplified, yet still fun to play.
