Harvesting Potatoes 2022
4
We planted potatoes in April, harvesting them in July. We have a little experience in growing potatoes but still have so much to learn. We feel that because our soil is clay-like, it held too much water (even though we had a long dry spell) causing the potatoes to rot. Several of the potatoes were rotten or starting to rot. We are going to look into what we can do to the soil to make it better and try again this fall.
We are certainly thankful for the experience and for what harvest we did get!
No matter what season of life you are in, or if you have little to no experience, it's never too late to try something new or keep working at something you want to get better at.
