Deception IV Blood Ties (PS3) Gameplay Sample

This is my first time playing this game, but I do own the original Deception on the PS1. Tecmo's deception series has been a very long running series, and puts the player in the role of the villain, protecting your castle from invading heroes.

The original that I own on the PS1 had a bit of a King's Field feel to it, first person camera, but the series has shifted to a third person game. As you can see this game is a mixture of a puzzle game, and RPG elements. Instead of battling your enemies with attacks, you are forced to lay down traps to catch them in. There are stage traps as well, and you can combo together multiple traps to do massive damage. So far, the game is really engrossing, even if I wish I could just attack the enemies back. I'm not sure if that's something you get to do later on in the game. As the game goes on, you earn new traps, and more trap slots, and the enemies get tougher.

I picked this game up a few years ago during the Gamestop fire sales on PSWii60 games, and I am glad I did. I've always liked the Deception series, and it's worth a look if you like unique games with strategic elements.
