A long time ago, along the coust of the village, a wooden box was found that contained the bones of a finger from the hand of Santa Margherita. The population decided to found a church dedicated to her bat on the same night a thief had stolen the relic which reappeared, some some time leter, in the same spot wher it was first found.
The faithful erected on the plase the church. To access you have to go up a flight of stairs, after which you find yourself in an atmosphere of great mysticosm. A copy of the highly venerated icon of the Black Madonna of Reggio is preserved.

The church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia is the main monument of the town. Located on the sea, it is mentioned in the 12th century, by the Antelami masters. Remodeled several times, it passed from the initial Romanesque style to a Baroque and then Romanesque again. Very characteristic are the black stone columns of the Mesco cave, the Gothic tabernacle of the fifteenth century and the mighty octagonal bell tower of 40 meters in height.
