From summer barbecues and holiday feasts, to lunches and dinners during the work week, for many Americans, there’s a key ingredient to them all: meat.

Normally, it’s easy to find, readily available, and inexpensive. But the COVID-19 pandemic has many Americans concerned about the status of the country’s meat supply — and rightfully so.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus has disrupted the food supply chain. Rapid changes in the demand for certain foods resulted in having a surplus of some foods but a shortage of others.

Even though Americans might be seeing empty grocery shelves, it doesn’t mean we are at risk of running out of food.
