Chilean fishermen catch 5-meter-long oarfish, considered a harbinger of disaster
According to the British "Mirror" report on July 13, a group of fishermen in Arica, Chile recently caught a nearly 5-meter-long oarfish. The oarfish lives in deep water and can reach a length of 11 meters. It only swims to the surface when it is sick, dead or breeding. This marine creature has long been regarded by the Japanese as "a harbinger of an upcoming tsunami and earthquake". The Japanese also believed that whoever discovered it would be cursed.
