First Attempt at Baguettes: Good-tasting ugly!

I wanted to make mini-baguettes--I don't have a special baguette pan, but I do have a large pizza stone. Except for setting off the smoke alarm, the rolls turned out delicious--hearty, chewy, full of flavor. Slathered with a high quality butter (European if you have it!) they are hard to stop eating! Not as light and fluffy as my highest expectations, but then, I used a cup of whole wheat flour instead of all white flour, so that is fine. We ate two of the six already--good thing I froze the rest for later!

*As far as my recipe, I used the one from the King Arthur flour website. I made 6 small instead of 3 long baguettes and I used 1 cup whole wheat (Montana Gold) for part of the flour.
