Rain, mud and a few good plants!

Lori Fiechter here on a warm and soggy day in May. After such a late, late spring, it is great to see things growing in the garden again. We had about 6/10" of rain yesterday and another 8/10" this afternoon so it was a perfect time to get everything planted. The video shows puddles, but everything soaked into the ground by about 15 minutes after the rain stopped.

I planted ground cherries last evening and Stan set out the sweet potatoes this morning, adding 20 pounds of bagged topsoil for each plant! That spot in the garden had heavy soil and last year's sweet potatoes were misshapen. Hoping the loose soil will lead to more uniform ones.
