What STAR WARS Means To Us with Former Lucasfilm Licensing Executive Editor J.W. Rinzler

Jonathan Rinzler, former Lucasfilm Licensing Executive Editor of 15 years, and I discuss what STAR WARS means to us.

We talk about how STAR WARS has impacted our lives and I ask questions related to George Lucas's era STAR WARS and his career at Lucasfilm.

Born in Lakewood, New Jersey, Jonathan Rinzler grew up in New York City and Berkeley. He is married, has two adult daughters, and lives on the northern California coast.

Author of over 20 books, three New York Times bestsellers, and a London Times bestseller, including The Making of Star Wars, The Complete Making of Indiana Jones, and the #1 best-selling graphic novel The Star Wars.

His books have been translated into seven languages, with more than 600,000 copies in print. A prolific writer who was Lucas Licensing's book division executive editor until 2016.

Following the announcement of the Star Wars canon reboot into Star Wars Legends in April of 2014, a new edition of The Star Wars by Rinzler was published on May 7th.

He has also written The Making of Planet of the Apes 2018, The Making of Alien 2019, and The Making of Aliens coming out in September 2020. His most recent books are The Making of Return of the Jedi and Star Wars Storyboards - The Original Trilogy.

In March 2014, J.W. Rinzler wrote Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes The Disappeared, Part I, and The Disappeared, Part II. His first novel, ALL UP, is due out in July 2020.

The villain Rinzler in TRON: LEGACY was named after Jonathan.
