What Happened in Ukraine?

In January 2022, several weeks before the invasion of Ukraine, I received an email from a Ukrainian Army officer, in which he conveyed a rather unusual story about his Airborne unit being ambushed in 2015 by a group of Russian Reconnaissance soldiers.

The story is baffling and was difficult for me to title.

So, like our Ukrainian friend, I can only ask, what happened in Ukraine?
