In this video i give a behind-the-scenes look at some of the activities I've been doing on a daily basis during the last year or so, but more intensely during the Coronavirus lockdown period. I've had a little extra time to devote to music production, and I thought I'd share a glimpse into some of things I get into around here in order to make music happen.

We start out with the tracking of some bass parts on a new song that Cat Corelli is working on for her new album, Killed Alive. I demonstrate my tracking procedures and talk about that process a little bit, my theory on alternate takes and selecting the best one. I then walk that process all the way through to export. Look for Cat to drop this song I was working on, Black Bite, on June 24th!

Next is a brief exploration into vocal processing with Melodyne on my song Some Other Way, which is for a NEW acoustic version of the Victory EP, which is currently in progress.

Following that is a demonstration of tracking the percussion for a new song to be included on the acoustic EP, a song called "Cry No More". No electronic MIDI drums this time, I'm doing live percussion, but very light stuff.

Next is tracking a backup or replacement acoustic guitar track for the song Victory.

And last is some rehearsal of a mandolin track for the new song "Cry No More".

You can hear a short unmixed stems-only sample of the acoustic "Victory" at the end credits of this video, just for an example of what this new EP will sound like!

Special thanks to Alan Matthew, who did an amazing job rendering the new intro graphics, which I think are totally stunning! Well done, Alan! Awesome!
