Why I don't think makers should use dragon scale type damascus

This is not the first time I have seen this in a Damascus knife but it is the worst I have seen, then again I have never sharpened dragon scale type. You can have the same issues with any Damascus steel especially if they use a non austenite forming steel to get the white shiny lines. Those materials do not harden like the surrounding material and allow uneven wear along the apex. A good looking knife is not always a good working knife.
