Russian combat helicopters 'hit Ukrainian hangar containing U.S. weapons'

RUSSIAN forces struck two Ukrainian army hangars storing U.S.-produced M777 howitzers, a type of artillery weapon, near Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region, the Russian defence ministry said on Sunday (July 10).

The ministry said the U.S.-made M777 howitzers had been used to shell residential areas of Donetsk.

Reuters could not independently verify battlefield accounts.

Ukrainian military spokespeople were not immediately available for comment.
