Transplanting Cucumbers, Watermelons, Pumpkins & Squash | Gardening In Canada

Transplant cucumbers, watermelon, pumpkin, & squash in Canada or cold climates. In this video we are looking at a new way of transplanting vines outside. The goal with this transplant theory is to use a biodegradable newspaper planter in the garden. My hope is that the roots will establish inside this paper cup and then when I plant them outside I don’t have to contend with transplant shock just the process of hardening off a plant.

Past experience has been a nightmare with transplanting pumpkins, watermelons, squash & cucumbers. So fingers crossed this transplant idea works out for me.
