Minneapolis Police Retreat, Let Rioters Burn It All Down

Welp, the Minneapolis Police Department abandoned the 3rd precinct, home of the four former officers implicated in the death of George Floyd. This retreat however was not a defeat for the police, but a strategic withdrawal in my opinion. By letting the rioters destroy the city, the Police allow the riots to strike fear in the hearts of peaceful citizens in the hopes that they will be more likely to support the police in the future. Were the police to properly defend the city from the rioters, they would risk martyring the participants and turning the citizenry against them even more.
