Chummy reporters (Sheila Terry, Theodore Newton) see deadly duplicity in a philanthropist (Lionel Atwill) who does not hear or speak.

After a murder with the philanthropist as the prime suspect, Police have to figure out whether he was responsible, or being framed.

The film was remade by Rosen as Phantom Killer (1942 film) in 1942.
