DENDROBIUM TORTILE - Preparing for the future health & vigor of this gorgeous pendant grower.

TOUGH DECISION! I love my mounted pendant orchids, BUT, in this video I show how low my humidity drops in summer, and we are only in mid May 2020 when this was filmed. The consequences of not planning ahead could be detrimental to the vigour of this dendrobium! While lifestyle currently permits multiple waterings while it is mounted, this is not a guarantee to be the case in the future! When dendrobiums grow, they grow fast! It is this growth habit that needs to be supported with plenty of hydration and fertilization! New root growth can stall from the get go if there is not sufficient humidity in the air. As it was time to remove the old moss and refresh with new, I came to the conclusion that, if I were to do this orchid justice, care wise, then now would be the time to pot it up... new root growth makes a transition easier and more forgiving. Thank you for watching ... I understand that there may be differences in opinion regarding my decision to pot this dendrobium up, so... feel free to address your opinions in the comments, this helps me to troubleshoot my decision making process as well! Thank you!
