Soccer is, unquestionably, the world’s favourite spectator sport where it is followed by millions of viewers. The beautiful game is easy to follow with relatively less rules and regulations than most other sports. Get the ball in the net and you score! To spectators, it is exciting to watch players fight for the ball and score beautiful goals. While it is always nice to watch, it is less so being a professional soccer player. As the game is played mostly in high temperatures, players always face the challenge of running in full uniform under sweltering heat. It is common to see players nice and fresh at the start of the match, but these same players look jaded after over 90 minutes running in tightly-laced up boots and socks. Though modern soccer jerseys are made of scientifically cool material, but football socks remain thick and long. To protect the feet, it is not uncommon to see players wearing double layers of socks as cushion to the feet underneath soccer boots. Imagine wearing these long socks on top of another pair of thick athletic socks, together with shin pads in very humid temperatures. It is only human that these exhausted players feel the urge to remove all their footwear after a tough game. It is torture not being able to do so, especially after encountering some injury!
