Soil Compaction, Porosity & Parent Material Gardening in Canada.

This series is going to be wild! So much info so little time. Soil, soil, soil! We take soil science and we bring it into the garden. In this video we talk about what soil to put into the garden, how to identify what soil is best to choose from at the landscaping company. Then we get into soil porosity and what that means for the garden. Soil porosity is so important to the overall health of the soils fertility, microbiome & plant health. We talk about how to test your soils porosity and even how to improve it.

Finally we end with soil parent material and what the means for the “DNA” of the soil. There are just stone inherent characteristics when it comes to soil we simply cannot change. But we go through an experiment in compaction you can try at home!
