The Japanese are an island people, proud and pious with a rich culture of arts and letters. Your civilization stretches back thousands of years, years of bloody warfare, expansion and isolation, great wealth and great poverty. Bushido: Units fight as though they were at full strength even when damaged. +1 Culture from each Fishing Boat and +2 Culture from each Atoll.

Samurai: Starts with the Shock I and Great Generals II promotions. Can build fishing boats without being consumed.

Dojo: Unlocked at Metal Casting. Melee and Gun Units gain additional XP equal to 20% of the Cultural output of that city. This amount is increased to 30% if the city also has a Temple.

Zero: Combat bonus vs. fighters. Does not require Oil.
