Polar bears, also known as white bears, are the largest land carnivores in the world. The body is large and stout, with a height of 1.6 meters at the shoulder. Adult males weigh between 300 and 800 kilograms and have heads up to 2.5 meters long. Females are smaller, weighing 150-300kg and 1.8-2m long. Similar to the brown bear, but without the hump. The head is relatively small compared to other bears, with small, round ears and a slender neck. The skin is black, because the hair is transparent so the appearance is usually white, there are yellow and other colors, the body is huge, fierce. Each foot has five toes and non-retractable claws, with large, paddle-like front PAWS for swimming and walking on thin ice.

Polar bears are found throughout the ice-covered waters of the Arctic Circle. In areas where arctic sea ice completely melts each summer, polar bears are forced to spend several months on land, where they feed mainly on stored fat until the sea surface freezes.
